Leica CLSM image (100x) of a plant tissue overexpressing a homeodomain interacting protein fused with GFP. The nucleus appears green and the chloroplast in blue. This image shows the effect of the strong UV radiation on the distribution of the chloroplasts. They move to the proximity of the nucleus to protect the genome against the UV light. Also it indicates that the fusion protein is localized in the nucleus.
This image is part of our current studies on the homeodomain protein function in plants.
